General precautions have to be taken by the guests to protect themselves from getting infected with COVID-19 whilst travelling.

Guests will not travel into Male as they will be escorted by our team from the arrival hall at the international airport in Male to their private speed boat straight away.

All our staff undergo daily temperature checks and are fully informed of the safety and hygiene precautions put into place by the government of the Maldives and the resort.

Furthermore, Baros Maldives is one of the smaller resorts, which will limit the number of people on the island at any one time. The villas offer utmost privacy and housekeeping and Villa Host services can be adjusted as per the guest’s wishes..

If you were tested positive for COVID 19 within the last 6 months, you will have to undergo a medical check and get clearance for diving from your doctor.

Before diving in the Maldives, you will have to fill the Fit for Diving health declaration form, which will have to be evaluated by your dive instructor before you will be allowed to dive.

If you have received a COVID 19 vaccine, you will need to wait for seven days until you will be allowed to go diving as a safety precaution. It is advised to extend the waiting period to 14 days if you had experienced strong side effects from the vaccine for more than 48 after vaccination.

It is mandatory for all inbound travellers to present a negative PCR test certificate on arrival. The test result should be not older than 96 hours.

Please make sure to check your airline’s PCR test requirements before departure as some airlines might still require a negative PCR test result before boarding.

For split stays between resort islands, a negative PCR test is still required before your arrival to Baros.

Yes, we do have a fully equipped first aid medical facilities on the island. The Resident Doctor is available 24 hours. The nearest hospital can be reached within 20 minutes by speed boat.

Baros has reopened since 1 October 2020.

We have put in place a comprehensive programme to ensure that high standards for hygiene and cleanliness are met. The resort team is following the guidelines issued by the World Health Organization and local authorities, with measures in place across all touchpoints. SPLIT STAYS BETWEEN RESORTS

Travelling between resorts is currently subject to approval by the Ministry of Tourism and decided on a case to case basis within 24hrs before your journey from one resort to the other. The approval process will be handled by the resort. Please note, there is no guarantee that a split stay will be approved and the resort cannot be held liable for any cancellation charges that might occur.

You will need to obtain a negative PCR test certificate if you are arriving at Baros from another resort.

For the safety of everyone, the Health Protection Agency of the Maldives has made it mandatory for all inbound travellers to present a negative PCR test certificate on arrival. The test result should be not older than 96 hours. Electronic Health Declaration: all travellers to the Maldives are required to submit a health declaration within 24hrs prior to their arrival to the Maldives.

Guests with a history of contact with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 within the past 14 days and/or persons who have a fever or respiratory symptoms such as cough, sore throat, shortness of breath within the past 14 days should not travel to the Maldives.

It is recommended that you research the airline safety and hygiene measures, as well as their requirements when processing the booking
Travel Health Declaration

  • If any guest exhibits symptoms such as coughing, sneezing, difficulty in breathing, the resident medical personnel will be informed and attend to the guest in their villa.
  • Our Resident Doctor will take actions and isolate the guest in a separate room on the Water Villa jetty. The Health Protection Authorities (HPA) of the Maldives will be informed.
  • The General Manager and Resort Manager will personally trace back the activities of the guest and identify who and where the guest has had any contact with.
  • Team members who had contact with the guest will be isolated in separate rooms.
  • Further advice and action will be taken based on the HPA protocol.

The government has put various measures in place to ensure the best possible way to contain the spread of COVID-19 within the Maldives. Among others, these actions include strict monitoring of travellers upon arrival and rigorous hygiene rules implemented by the HPA.

Should any cancellations be caused by or related to any governmental decisions or air-travel restrictions, a full refund will be given.

The above cancellation terms are valid until 31st October 2021.

If your next destination or airline requires a PCR test before departure from the Maldives, we are happy to make arrangements for you

Your samples will be taken at Baros by our in-house Paramedic and sent to Male’ for testing prior to your departure. You will receive the results within 24 hours of testing.

You would not have to worry about the logistics as we will take care of it for you!
